Q and A with Exclusive Race Cooper!

Q: How did you get your big break in porn?
A: My big break started with Steve Cruz. I had been hanging out with him, and he'd always been cool with not pressuring me about doing porn. When I started getting curious, he honestly answered my questions.... and as soon as I was ready to do it, he cast me in the movie Mustang's "XXX".

Q: Why the name Race Cooper?
A: I enjoy writing a great deal, so making up my name was partly a play on words. Something with an edge, something challenging. However, mostly the name 'Race' came from what I've come to expect when people see me. It doesn't matter what racial barriers have been surpassed in politics, business or entertainment, people will always look at your skin color first. I'm of mixed race, but people always see and identify me as an African-American. I just thought that if people are going to think of race first when they see me, why not utilize that as my name?



Q: What is it like being the newest African-American exclusive to Raging Stallion Studios?
A: It's a great honor, but more than that... it's a great responsibility. There just aren't that many exclusive contracts given to men of color, let alone.... exclusive contracts in general nowadays. Because of that, I know how important it is to not only try to set a high standard for the performances that I do, but to be a role model for queer men of color across America and around the world. I'm a part of the image industry, and whatever I do on or off camera, will speak volumes for those who can't.

Q: You've now celebrated doing adult films for over a year now.... How would you describe the experience so far?
A: It's been kinda crazy, but in a good way. I never expected the attention I received, especially from the bloggers. I'm amazed at the speed that my career in the industry has propelled me forward. From doing my first shoot, to being in books, magazines, producing my own sites, modeling for famed photographers, and now as an exclusive.... It's so fast, it's making my head spin. It's a good thing I like speed. Faster, Faster!!! Wheeeeee!!!!!



Q: You've shown versatility both in front and behind the camera. What motivated you to do both?
A: I come from a family with strong work ethics, and when I try something out, I love to go full-force into it. I've had a long history working both in front and behind the camera. Both my brother and sister are commercial photographers, and they got me used to modeling at a young age. I was always the writer, but my writing was always like a script for movies... so it didn't take long for me to start directing/producing theatrical shows, television shows, commercials or film shorts. Once I opened the door to working in adult entertainment, it seemed a natural conclusion that I would want to be in front and behind the camera, simultaneously. I love to tell a story, and I'm a perfectionist when I work. Therefore, working with Raging Stallion is going to be a fucking great fit!

Q: Steve Cruz has described you as the gay porn 'Grace Jones'. Why or why not, is that an accurate description?
A: I hate to admit it, but Steve's right. I can be kinda crazy. I have a lot of ideas, and I can turn up the theatrical side of me. If being confident about my abilities as a model, actor, singer, director.... whatever, makes me compared to Grace Jones... I'm going to take it as a compliment. I just won't have that nasty little coke habit she had.

Q: Cruz has also said, and I'm paraphrasing.... 'That your body is so perfect, it makes him sick." What do you do to maintain it?
A: Steve has a way with words. I train very, very hard. Which is mostly due to a wrestling coach in high school, who instilled in me a great deal of discipline. Usually I'm training 5 days a week, with a couple of days doing double-workouts. I do Kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA training, some wrestling, and some dance for cardio.... and change my weight-training routine constantly. As far as nutrition.... I don't really diet. Just have a lot of balanced meals, take my vitamins, that kind of stuff. Underneath all this muscle, I'm a skinny geek... so I have to just eat a lot, to keep it on.

Q: What turns you on the most?
A: Rough sex. There's nothing better than feeling completely worn out from sex, and sweat dripping from my body. Sensual sex is nice, but it puts me to sleep faster than Melatonin.

Q: Tell us about what films viewers can see you in next?
A: The next film I'm in to be released, is 'Code Yellow'! I loved working on it, because it was my first Raging Stallion film, I love water-sports, and I got to work with the very hot Drake Jaden. I'm also excited for the upcoming 'Steamworks' movie. The scene that I shot with chocolate hottie Derek Reynolds is fucking FIRE!

Q: Finish this sentence.... Race Cooper does porn because..... ?
A: Because there are two jobs in life that are really important to people. Taking away their shit, and helping them have sex. I've dealt with enough shit in my life, so it's time to do the latter. Because sex and media are intermixed... and I can finally do both of them, and pay my bills on time. Because this is the only industry that encourages my twisted imagination.... and wants me to do MORE. Pick whichever answer suits you best.... I won't mind.
